are delighted to attend the European Transport Conference, the annual event organized by the Association for European Transport (AET) in Antwerp, Belgium from 17th to 19th September.<\/p>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<p>During the session \u2018Transport Economics Finance and Appraisal, on Thursday, 18 September from 3.30 pm, Claudio Minelli, COO of MIC-HUB, will present the paper: \u2018Providing efficient transport to rural areas in Sub-Saharan Africa \u2013 The development of business models for public transport services for intercity and rural bus routes in Rwanda\u2019.<\/p>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<p>MIC-HUB collaborated with the Rwanda Transport Development Agency on a national strategic study to define a more accessible, sustainable and efficient public transport system. The project aimed to improve connectivity between rural communities and the country's urban centres, ensuring better access to essential services, economic opportunities, healthcare and education.<\/p>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<p>During the session \u2018Data-Driven Strategies for Road Safety\u2019 on Friday, 19 September from 1.30 pm, Delia Valastro, Senior Consultant in the MIC-HUB City Futures Research Lab, will present the paper: \u2018The role of data collection process for road accident risk mitigation\u2019.<\/p>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<p>Her research highlights the crucial role of developing safe and accessible infrastructure in reducing fatalities among pedestrians and vulnerable road users. The study examines accident characteristics and data collection methodologies at both European and Italian levels, aiming to identify the physical, morphological and social factors that increase community vulnerability. It also defines the requirements for a spatial tool to map accident distribution, supporting the achievement of the Vision Zero target.<\/p>\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<p>Organized by the Association for European Transport (AET), the European Transport Conference is the annual conference attracting transport policy makers, practitioners and researchers from all over Europe and beyond.
