Masterplan for the reconstruction of Hatay, Turkey

The masterplan for the Turkish province of Hatay is progressing well.

Foster + Partners, Buro Happold and MIC-HUB recently met with members of the Turkey Design Foundation Hatay Cooperation Group to discuss the mobility strategies and design concepts.

The reconstruction, with a masterplan led by Foster + Partners, will help the residents of Hatay, who migrated after the earthquake, to return to their homeland. It will also provide a sustainable approach to a safer and more inclusive future.

At the heart of the proposal is a master plan for the city of Antakya, considering 80% of the city was destroyed during the event.
