Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, Florida

Delia Valastro, Senior Researcher in our City Futures research lab, will give a lecture to the students of the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering – University of Florida Transportation Institute Summer School in Parma.

Delia’s lecture, entitled ‘Mobility in Action: Planning for the Italian City and Mitigating Road Accident Risk Vulnerability for Pedestrians and Vulnerable Users,’ will explore how transport planning can support safer urban environments, with a specific focus on road safety and active mobility.

Her work contributes to a broader understanding of how data, planning tools and urban design can help cities move towards safer, more inclusive mobility systems.

The UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is one of the three largest research units at the University of Florida. It is dedicated to advancing transportation through innovative research, education, and technology transfer. By bringing together diverse expertise, it works to address complex mobility challenges and shape a safer, more sustainable future.

We would like to thank Professor Lily Elefteriadou for inviting us to meet the Summer School students.
