MIC-HUB selected to re-design the R47 Riverfront District in Pittsburgh

MIC-HUB NY is happy to announce that has been selected together with Balmori and Sherwood to plan and design the R47 Riverfront District including 1.5 mile of trail in Pittsburgh, PA.

R47 is a proposed mixed-use development expected to bring 500 housing units, commercial and retail along the Allegheny River in Sharpsburg Borough, O’Hara Township and Aspinwall Borough. The shared vision for the District is to create an extraordinary public park which invites both active and passive recreation, implement a missing segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail while recreating a vibrant public domain along the river’s edge and connect into the communities.

Given the proximity to the railroad and the limited connections to the external network our main role will be to identify strategies and solutions to guarantee the best accessibility to the site to all modes and users and to limit the impact of private motorized mobility on the future uses of the park.
