Maspero Triangle Competition, Egypt

MIC-HUB was the transport consultant for the winning entry for the Maspero Triangle Masterplan district, a 35 ha of land downtown Cairo on the banks of the river Nile that is currently characterized by its informal settlements all within a dense urban fabric. The goal of this design competition was to inspire a master plan that will be an example of mixed-use urban community, preserves heritage, protects the environment and does not lead to loss of local residents’ diversity.

“We are delighted with this first winning entry in Egypt. The public realm design and characterisation of the different public spaces were a main focus in the project. Working with Foster+Partners is always an enriching experience,” says Karim Aboujaoude, project leader at MIC-HUB.
