Milan Piazza Cordusio: track work completed

Renovation work on the tram tracks running through Piazza Cordusio in Milan’s historic centre has been completed.

Trams are now running across the square again, and optimised traffic lights are coordinating the passage of vehicles at various intersections. This minimises stops and reduces waiting times, improving the efficiency of the system and the usability of the space for all users.

Work is also proceeding on the expansion of pedestrian areas and enhancement of street furniture to further improve the square and the nearby Via Orefici.

The project, by Freyrie Flores Architettura, MIC-HUB and Esa Engineering, aims to improve the pedestrian experience by revising the vehicular road system.
