Open MIC: the first episode of the podcast with Stefano Boeri is online

We are delighted to launch the first episode of Open MIC – Architects, Cities and Mobility, with Federico Parolotto and our first guest Stefano Boeri, Stefano Boeri Architetti.

Ep 01 > Stefano Boeri, from the Vertical Forest to the Archipelago City

We talk to Stefano Boeri about pop architecture, Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest) and the importance of nature in the construction of a building, discussing also a new urban model to address the issues of the environmental crisis, based on an archipelago city, a system of islands and villages, designed around three key aspects: mobility, green areas and energy. The villages are almost self-sufficient in terms of their public spaces and services, helping to establish a high quality environment.

Open MIC is the MIC-HUB podcast on the theme of mobility, infrastructures, city and environment.

The protagonists of Open MIC offer professional and personal reflections on the urban theme.

The first season of Open MIC, Architects, Cities and Mobility, is dedicated to conversations with ten Italian architects, unfolding their story from their beginnings and their sources of inspiration, and going on to discuss their design vision and what needs to be done to generate change and redesign space and mobility in a sustainable fashion.

The narrator in this journey is Federico Parolotto, architect and CEO of MIC-HUB, long-time expert in transport planning and sustainable mobility.

The first guest is Stefano Boeri, architect and urban planner, Professor of Urban Planning at Politecnico di Milano and director of Future City Lab at Tongji University in Shanghai.

He is President of Fondazione Futuro delle Città and of the Scientific Committee of Forestami, the urban forestation project in the metropolitan area of Milan.

Architect of the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Forest), built in Milan in 2014, Stefano Boeri’s professional interests range from architecture and urban visions to design, with a constant focus on the geopolitical and environmental implications of urban phenomena. Stefano Boeri is founding partner of the practice Stefano Boeri Architetti, with headquarters in Milan and offices in Shanghai and Tirana. The practice is dedicated to research and design in the fields of architecture and urbanism, interior design and culture.
