Our contribution
MIC-HUB’s consultancy identified the number of electric buses required for the new local public transport network in Bari, which included high-capacity BRT lines.
The consultancy activity was divided into several integrated operational phases:
• An analysis of the characteristics of potential electric vehicles, comparing the products of different suppliers;
• A focus on the characteristics of the new local public transport network in Bari, analysing key data such as the line lengths, commercial speeds, and journey times;
• A calculation of vehicle shifts for each line, allowing the daily vehicle requirements to be put into service and specific facilities to be installed in the depots and at selected terminals.
Our analysis offered a technical and operational framework to help define a coherent strategy for the electrification of the urban bus fleet.
