Our contribution
Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of the district and the dynamics of the territory, MIC-HUB conducted a comprehensive analysis of mobility needs within the study area.
Based on this analysis, a bus system network and operating plan were defined, starting from the original network proposal in the Larnaca SUMP, comprising radial lines centred on the new Central Bus Station, and offering services every 10 and 15 minutes.
This configuration creates high-frequency routes which compete with private transport, encouraging a modal shift towards sustainable mobility.
MIC-HUB also defined the size of the required bus fleet and the areas for the bus depots.
The proposed bus network extends beyond the administrative boundaries of Larnaca to provide coverage for neighbouring municipalities, enabling an integrated public transport system on a district scale.
