Ciudad Creativa Digital, Guadalajara
Guadalajara, Mexico
The Ciudad Creativa Digital (CCD) project is a transformation strategy for a new digital and creative cluster in Guadalajara, Mexico. As the country’s second largest city and home to Mexico’s 'Silicon Valley', Guadalajara is the ideal location for CCD to attract Mexican and international creative talent to develop new digital media content.
It is led by the Mexican federal government and strongly complemented by the active participation of the Jalisco state and Guadalajara state and municipal governments, the regional high-tech cluster, universities, and civil society in general.
Designed from inception to become a centre of digital creation, the project investigates how the digital revolution, having changed people’s lives over the past decades, will change cities and affect architecture and urban design.
The Master Plan for CCD blends physical design with digital master planning. An urban operating system will integrate all digital services in the CCD and allow for real-time feedback throughout the city. Data will be displayed on multiple devices and in various formats to provide citizens, workers and visitors with easy access.

Our contribution
Within the team, MIC-HUB's role has been to support the decision-making process related to mobility issues.
MIC-HUB's objective has been to provide a comprehensive mobility strategy for the masterplan that meets high sustainability standards and incorporates cutting-edge technology in a well-defined urban context, such as Guadalajara's.
Topics addressed by MIC include road design, public transport planning, parking strategy and provision, and pedestrian and cycling connectivity, all within the framework of innovative and sustainable solutions with a particular focus on digital mobility.
The development of the CCD from concept to master plan took over two years, involving many meetings and workshops that combined the expertise of the international multidisciplinary team with feedback from the authorities, public and private promoters, universities, and civil society in general.
